I’ve often talked about Building Your Brand – a concept that many forgive while searching for success. As I was first told, ‘it’s far easier to tarnish your brand than to build it.’

I’ve always been partial to personal branding. How you represent yourself in and outside of the workplace. Integrity is the number one factor I look for when hiring – it’s not about what you say, but about what you do.

Recently found this article from the HBR about Building Your Board. I too believe that you are who you surround yourself with, but I’ve always accepted this in the unconscious. It’s a neat take on surrounding yourself with those not only to learn from, but to demand feedback from. Just as a company assigns a board to help determine direction, strategy, and required changes, the same can be incorporated into your personal life.
